General Information

Detailing the precise schedule for each event, including opening times for registration and equipment inspection, as well as practice and scoring will begin. Archery ACT would like to remind participants that these events will follow the Archery Australia Rules, largely reference the World Archery Rules for event requirements.

All entrants should take note of the following:

1. Arrows

  • Must all be identical (i.e. fletches, nocks).

  • All arrows must have the archer’s name/initials on the shaft (not on the fletch).

  • Shaft diameter cannot exceed 9.3mm, and the point 9.4mm.

2.  Bow draw weight cannot exceed 60 pounds

This will be checked at Equipment Inspection.

3. Camouflage clothing is not permitted.

However, camouflage coloured equipment is permitted.

4. Safety and the Timing System

Digital clocks with sound signals will be used to run the events. Archers will get 240 seconds to shoot 6 arrows. 120 seconds for 3 arrows for indoors. The following sound signals will be used:

  • 2 beeps – proceed to the shooting line from the wait line.

  • 1 beep – commence shooting.

  • 3 beeps – proceed forward to score.

  • 5 or more beeps – cease shooting immediately.

5. Equipment failure

In the event of any equipment failure, please alert the closest judge, who will advise you on how to proceed.

6. Scoring

  • Scoring will be both electronic and paper (bring a pen!) for each target.

  • Archers Diary will be used for the electronic scoring. To be able to score electronically, archers will need to use iscored.today which can either be downloaded or accessed at https://iscored.today.

  • If any arrows are incorrectly recorded on the paper scoresheet, please ask a judge to correct them while the arrows are still in the target face.

7. Shooting lanes

  • Archers will have a marked 90cm area on the shooting line for themselves and scopes. (1m for clout. 80 cm for Indoors)

  • Paras Archers will be allocated 1.25m.

Archery ACT recommends that all entrants check Archers Diary to ensure that they have been correctly registered (round and bow type) and to let us know if you have not, so that the Archers Diary record can be corrected!

The Weston Valley Archery Club has also extended an invitation to any interested AMG participants to utilise their facilities on Sunday, 19 October between 1000 and 1400 for practice (Target) for a nominal fee of $10 per person. Book your practice here.

Archery ACT and our affiliated clubs look forward to hosting you, and we wish you all an enjoyable and successful competition.
