ARCHERY ACT

🚨 Important Parking Notice at Canberra Archery Club (Monday 20th)
As we gear up for the Masters Games archery event at Canberra Archery Club on Monday the 20th, please take note of the following critical parking information:

Parking Is Extremely Limited
-
All adjacent venues will also be hosting Masters Games sports, which means parking across the area will be in high demand.
-
Parking at the archery range will be first-in, and once parked, you will not be able to leave until the end of the event.
-
Expect delays when exiting the carpark, as vehicles will need to leave in sequence for safety.

Access and Eligibility
-
Only registered archers are permitted to park at the club.
-
You will be required to show your Masters Games pass to access parking at the range.

Consider Carpooling
-
To help ease congestion, we strongly encourage participants to carpool where possible.
-
Please plan ahead, as once parked, you will be unable to move your vehicle until the event concludes.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Archery Events
Target
It is the most well-known form of modern archery and the one used at the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, and, for the compound competitions, at the World Games and many major international events.
Field
Archers shoot over distances of between 5 and 60 metres at yellow and black targets. The distances of the targets can be marked (known by the archer) or unmarked (unknown by the archer), making the ability to judge the range of the target valuable.

The additional skills required to succeed in field archery – including distance judging, shooting uphill and downhill, dealing with changing light conditions and challenging terrain – are collectively known as fieldcraft.
